(2010.01.28) Synology® Releases Synology DSM 2.2 Firmware Update to Support the Advanced Format Technology of Western Digital® EARS-series Hard Drives
Taipei, Taiwan—January 28, 2010—Synology® Inc. today updated the Synology DSM 2.2 firmware to support the Advanced Format Technology of Western Digital® EARS-series hard drives that are available in 1 TB, 1.5 TB and 2 TB capacity. "The 2 TB model WD20EARS has passed a series of stress and compatibility tests in Synology's laboratory," commented Edward Lin, marketing director of Synology Inc. The documentation rereleased by Western Digital states WD10EARS and WD15EARS have the same architecture as WD20EARS. "We expect them to be compatible with the Synology DiskStation as well." added Lin.
